A recent food pantry visit yielded a box of Zatarain's red beans & rice, and shortly afterwards, Dollar General had a sale on ultra-cheap hotdogs, so I decided to combine them and make them in my crockpot. :)

I made two batches, each with half the box of Zatarain mix (114~ grams), about 360 grams of water, and two hotdogs (well chopped up).
I cooked the first batch for about 6 1/3 hours on Low, and added 6 more hotdogs (halved) on top, which I removed & ate in three batches (each with one hotdog bun and abundant mustard).
The second batch I cooked for 3 1/2 hours on Low, and did not add any extra hotdogs.
The first batch was ok, but not as good as the 2nd.
I don't know if it was the extra cook time and/or the presence of so many extra hotdogs which impacted the taste.
Next summer, I will try to do more experiments. :)

As expected, this was an extremely easy meal to make, with next to zero cognitive load. :)
