For a while, I've had a craving for a cheese steak sandwich, and the local sales finally aligned! :)

Instead of using some fancy/expensive beef, I used a packet of "Buddig" precooked sliced beef, which is a fridge free friendly size (2 ounces), often available for $0.80 per packet, and very easy to use.
The final meal wasn't as good as a "high end" product, but was inexpensive and very tastee! :)

Steps:

  1. chop then fry/grill an onion (I used a cheap yellow onion ($0.49/lb at KwikTrip gas stations))
  2. add green pepper, continue cooking until pepper is desired doneness
  3. cut up then add beef, mix a bit, then...
  4. add cheese, continue cooking until cheese is melted
  5. load mixture into buns (I used cheap hamburger buns, instead of the traditional yet far more expensive & harder to find "hoagie" rolls)
  6. enjoy! :)
If your beef is not precooked, add it much earlier, and cook until desired doneness.
