Several companies make precooked pasta retort pouches, which are intended to be heated with a microwave.
They're perfect for van dash heating, or any more "ordinary" heating method.

I've bought a few of Kroger's house brand retorts, when they were on sale.
During a recent Heat Advisory, I used my van's dash to heat the pouch, then heat the contents as part of a "complete" meal.
It was easy, and tasted great. :)

The front and back of the pouch:

Also present are a solar stake light, two cans of pasta, a can of soup, and a clear bottle of water (for hygiene).
When I relocate, usually I immediately put at least one bottle of hygiene water and the solar light on my dash.

After about an hour, the heated pasta, as seen thru the bottom of the pouch:

The pouch had noticeably swelled with the heat.

After transferring to a bowl:

After adding a mini pouch of pepperoni, some (manually shredded) sun dried tomato, and regular shredded cheese:

Next, I spread the cheese out more uniformly, and placed the bowl on my dash. :)
I had planned to leave it long enough to melt the cheese (or at least try to melt it).

I checked the bowl after half an hour.
The cheese was just starting to melt, and everything was very warm (mildly hot):

That particular cheese blend tends to melt poorly, plus I was hungry, so I decided to eat it immediately.

After mixing:

Review:

It was easy and the "complete" meal tasted great. :)

I had sampled the plain heated pasta, and didn't detect the "olive oil and sea salt", rather it just tasted like regular pasta, after being prepared in boiling water.

The empty pouch was much less messy than a can of fully prepared pasta.
Zero water was used. :)

The main downside is cost.
Typical prices are in the range of $1.29 (generic & on sale) to around $2 per pouch.

Bottom line:
This is a very handy item to have for days when you don't want to use a stove, for any reason, including: you're in a hurry, it's hot, or there's a burn ban.
It's mainly a "treat"/luxury item, rather than an everyday staple (depending on your budget).
