The Latter Day Saints maintain many "bishop's storehouses" around the USA, and some allow non-members to visit & purchase supplies.
You can also order a good solid range of staples online.

Here's pictures of the public area of one of their storehouses:

I was disciplined (which was difficult given the abundance of items available),
and only bought one #10 can each of apple chips, carrot dices, and a 28 oz (794g) bag of dry milk.
