The local sales recently aligned even better than last time, so I had another opportunity to indulge in cheese steak sandwiches! :)
This time, I used more beef & green pepper (both were on sale),
added a processed cheese single,
used fancier buns (Kwik Trip "french rolls" (yes, on sale)),
and toasted/grilled the buns.
The final version was superb! :)
Ingredients:
Cooked onions, green pepper, beef, and both types of cheese:
Loaded onto a grilled "french" roll, with a
(crockpot) baked potato,
all ready to eat:
item | Calories | Cost |
---|---|---|
beef | 100 | $0.75 |
onion (1/2) | 37 | $0.10 |
green pepper (1/4) | 6 | $0.13 |
"melting" cheese (2~ oz) | 150 | $0.25 |
cheese single (1) | 50 | $0.10 |
2 "french rolls" | 360 | $0.33 |
Totals: | 703 | $1.66 |
The beef, green pepper, and rolls were on sale, everything else was at the low end of their price ranges.
