Kaylee's not-a-blog » Food » Meals » Bacon Lettuce Tomato (BLT) on "inside out" grilled English Muffin

After my recent testing of cheap DollarTree English Muffins, it suddenly occurred to me that it would make far more sense to eat it with the tasty grilled inside side on the outside!

I decided to test my theory using BLT (Bacon Lettuce Tomato) muffin sandwiches.
Next grocery run, I picked up more muffins, a pack of iceberg lettuce, roma tomatoes, and dug out a pack of pre-cooked bacon (shelf stable) that I'd bought a few months before (I had been saving it for a special occasion).
The result was superb! :)

Note that in this picture, the bottom muffin half was "wrong" (traditional) side up, which I fixed in the next step.
Yes, I'm still getting used to this new concept. :)

Cost & Calories:

item Cost Calories
English Muffin $0.21 120
Bacon $0.30 30
Lettuce $0.15 3
Roma Tomato $0.06 5
sauce/mayo $0.09 40
Totals: $0.81 198

Price Notes:
Assumes that the bacon is bought on sale at $3 for a pack of 15 strips (I used 1 1/2 precooked strips per sandwich).
I do not have a sense for what "regular" bacon would cost (feedback is welcome!).
Currently, bags of prewashed iceberg lettuce are semi regularly on sale for $1.50 for 8 ounces (Walmart's regular price was about $1 pre-2022 inflation), and I used about 1/10 of a bag.
Realistically, this could be done for close to $0.60 each, with sale items.

I found two sandwiches (plus a few potato chips) was a filling meal, for me (I typically eat two meals per day).
This was somewhat more costly than my typical meal, however it was particularly satisfying and a welcome treat! :)
