Several years ago, I read about
Andrew Skurka's rice & beans with corn chips & cheese
hiker meal, and, after finding a sample package of
dehydrated refried beans,
needed some corn chips to try the recipe.
Fritos brand are silly expensive, so instead, I bought the ultra cheap Clover Valley brand (Dollar General's house brand).
I tried to buy the regular (non "chili") flavor, however it was not in stock.

These were hyper processed fake food, as expected.
The "chili" flavor was not spicy, and there was no noticeable "cheese" flavor (IMO).
I did eat some straight from the bag, all by themselves, and they were tasty albeit very strongly artificial tasting.
I resisted having more than a sample, and mostly ate these as part of the Skurka meal. :)
If bought on a Saturday, with Dollar General's "$5 off $25" coupon,
these cost $0.80 and have 1280 calories (per pouch), so their cost per calorie-day
is $1.25 which is very frugal.
There is (most definitely) no noteworthy nutritional perk.
