Recently, I tried a box of Dollar Tree Tofu.
I decided to try substituting it for SPAM in the
SPAM, onions, apples grilled cheese sandwich.
It worked out very well. :)
I made two batches of two sandwiches each, and in each batch made one with pumpkin spice (for science!).
The onions & apples were more pronounced, and the tofu was a far more subtle balance to the cheese.
I had been gifted a rather nice loaf of whole wheat bread, which enhanced everything. :)
Next time, I will try to remember to use some nice olive oil (recent gift from a Friend) to give the tofu a bit more "oomph".
